#NowReading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

So I FINALLY got my hands (thanks to my partner in crime Anna) on the The Alchemist. For years now I've been hearing from friends, teachers, and fellow bloggers how much Paulo Coelho's novel has changed their perspective on life. And as a lover of books especially books that deal with the human psyche I immediately gravitated towards it. Unfortunately, school work, house responsibilities, drama, LIFE in general sidetracked me from reading the book - until now. Fast forward to today and I'm glad to say that I will finally begin reading.
       For those who don't know....

"This story, dazzling in its powerful simplicity and inspiring wisdom, is about an Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago who travels from his homeland in Spain to the Egyptian desert in search of a treasure buried in the Pyramids. Along the way he meets a Gypsy woman, a man who calls himself king, and an alchemist, all of whom point Santiago in the direction of his quest. No one knows what the treasure is, or if Santiago will be able to surmount the obstacles along the way. Butt what starts out as a journey to find worldly goods turn into a discovery of the treasure found within. Lush, evocative, and deeply human, the story of Santiago is an eternal testament to the transforming power of our dreams and the importance of listening to our hearts."
   Summary of The Alchemist

Just from reading the summary I can already tell that this book will be great. I can't wait to see what
lessons I'll learn along the way so stay tuned to see what key ideas both you and I can get from The Alchemist.

Have you read The Alchemist? What did you like about it and what did you learn? Have you also read other books by Paulo Coelho?
